Join Rabbis Jenna and Aderet on the Potomac River for a meaningful, fun, and COVID-safe way to take part in the powerful ritual of Tashlich. Following our time on the water, we’ll head to a nearby DC restaurant for lunch on us!
Tashlich, or “casting away”, is performed during the Ten Days between the start of Rosh Hashana and the beginning of Yom Kippur. The ritual involves ceremonially throwing bread crumbs (or stones or bird feed for a more environmental take), representing areas in our lives where we have missed the mark, into a body of water. To symbolically represent our hope that these will be swept away, the body of water must be flowing (rather than stagnant, like a pond) or contain fish.
