Scott Brown brings over four decades of experience and a track record of success to his coaching practice and community leadership. Scott Brown Leadership Coaching, LLC. Scott’s clients often come through personal referrals from his outstanding reputation nationally and locally, and his relationships as a coach, trainer, and consultant. From United States Navy SEALS and rabbis to C-suite executives and early career staff, Scott has supported thousands of professionals. He also serves as a national consultant helping organizations improve their workplace culture. He has turned around lagging organizations by motivating staff and pursuing strategies to elevate their performance. He has led a complex human resources program for more than 800 employees, integrating new talent management and leadership development programs. He served as Executive Vice President and Vice President for Talent at Hillel’s International Headquarters, focusing on professional leadership, recruitment, and hiring for a diverse, global workforce. Prior to his national role, Scott led a major turnaround as the executive director of Hillel at the University of Maryland. Scott is particularly proud to have created and led impactful programs on an international level for Israel and leadership programs that continue to flourish today. He has spent extensive time in Israel.
Scott also brings his experience as a communal leader to his coaching practice and community leadership. He is a Past President of the Pozez Jewish Community Center of Northern Virginia where he led a major board transition and launched a successful $9.5M Capital Campaign. Scott currently serves on the Jewish Federation of Greater Washington Board and has served on the board of Bread for the City. He is the founding Board President of George Mason University Hillel. Scott holds a certificate in Leadership Coaching from the Institute for Transformational Leadership at Georgetown University. He has been designated as a Professional Certified Coach (PCC) by the International Coach Federation (ICF). Through his commitment to innovation and leadership, he earned Hillel the prestigious Prism Award from the Metro DC chapter of ICF. He also was honored by the Washington Business Journal Human Resources Leadership Awards for ethics and mentoring. Hillel awarded him the Exemplar of Excellence Award, its highest honor for professional staff. He earned an M.A. in Management from Webster University and a B.A. from Ohio University.
Scott has been married for over 37 years and has three daughters and five grandchildren.
